Memorial to the school generation

The memorial is dedicated to all the students who contributed to the EOKA 1955-59 struggles. Judging by the available documents, the wish for such a memorial seems to have been many years before the initiatives of the Limassol Schools Board in 1995. At least three competition calls were issued: the first was published in January 1996 but was cancelled two months later, in April, and a second was called. A third and last, apparently, was published in October 1999 with a view to the memorial being located at the entrance of the stadium of the Lanitio high school. The memorial was commissioned by the Limassol Greek School Supervision of 1962-2005 and was unveiled during 2005.
